Revitalization of Little Havana & The Ball and Chain Bar
The area known as Little Havana located west of downtown Miami houses approximately 50,000 residents. This district consisting of 3 miles is experiencing a major transformation infused by the arts, culture and historical preservation. Little Havana contains some of the oldest and most historic buildings in Miami, including numerous examples of classic bungalow architecture.
Little Havana offers an array of eclectic venues ranging from cuisine, art galleries, cigars shops, and is even home to the Miami Marlin’s Stadium. The area hosts Cultural Fridays showcasing local artists, restaurants and musicians.
As part of the historical preservation movement, the Barlington Group bought and renovated the historic 60 year old The Ball & Chain Bar. Last month, the bar and club located at 1513 S.W. 8th Street, Miami, Florida reopened it doors for business offering patrons the old vintage Florida feel accompanied by music performed by local artists.
